News from the Calgary International Auto Show

Next-gen technology was on the minds of many attendees at the recently-concluded Calgary International Show, one of Western Canada’s largest auto events and a show that emphasizes the latest automotive technology. Ford Motor Company spearheaded many conversations regarding next-gen tech, including the brand’s Ford Co-Pilot360, a high-end suite of driver support systems set to debut in Canada this fall.

When it arrives in Calgary, AB on Ford SUVs, cars, and trucks like a Ford F-150 near Strathmore, AB, Ford Co-Pilot360 will further confirm Ford Motor Company as a supreme innovator. Ford Co-Pilot360’s technologies include lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, automatic high-beams, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. No other non-luxury brand offers this combination of features as standard in North America.

And Ford Co-Pilot360 doesn’t stop there. A “premium” level of cutting-edge protective technologies will also be available on select Ford vehicles. These advancements include adaptive cruise control (with stop-and-go plus lane centering), post-collision braking, and evasive steering assist. And coming in 2019, the Ford Motor Company will introduce reverse brake assist, an innovation to help drivers avoid collisions when backing up.

Another hot topic at the 2018 Calgary Auto Show, and one of particular interest to our Strathmore car dealership serving Calgary, AB, is the Ford brand’s game-changing plans for its 2020 model lineup. The company’s “2020 strategy” revolves around the concept of “smart vehicles in a smart world”, and it sees the brand making huge investments in next-gen connectivity while at the same time replacing more than 75% of its current roster and adding four new trucks and SUVs.

These are exciting times for Ford Motor Company and Strathmore Ford. Visit us today to test drive your favorite Ford vehicles and to learn more about the Ford brand’s plans for the years ahead!
